We are a small rescue that helps dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice or whatever needs help. We have all of our rescue animals in private foster homes where they can receive love, socialization and medical care if needed. We provide spaying and neutering for all the pets that come into rescue before going to their forever homes. We ask that people fill out an application first so we can see if they are a good match with that particular animal. Then we set up a meeting with that family and animal.
Our adoption fees are $125 for all animal no matter how much money we put into them medically or the type of breed. This includes spay/neuter, all vaccinations for their age, full vet exam, FIV/Felv test for cats, heartworm test for dogs, nail trim, and anything else that needs attending to.
If we are full and someone needs to re-home their pet we provide help with
a list of what to ask future adopters and then post them on our site. That
way the animal wont have to go to a shelter and risk being euthanized. We do
this
free of charge.
We are located in Delta County, Colorado - about an hour south of Grand Junction, Colorado on the western side of the state. We are a small but mighty group of volunteers with only 4 foster homes, yet we manage to rescue and adopt out a fair number of pets. We do not have an actual shelter, but prefer to keep our rescued animals in foster care facilities throughout the county. We are no-kill and non profit.
Every Creature Counts
Every Creature Counts is a non-profit, no-kill, cage-less dog and cat sanctuary
that rescues the animals who were going to be euthanized due to pet overpopulation.
We also run a low cost spay/neuter clinic out of Brighton, CO (303-637-9136)
to help control the pet overpopulation problem.
We're located in Summit County, Colorado, and we help find homes for homeless
dogs and cats throughout Colorado. We use foster homes right now, but we're
hoping to have a no-kill shelter up and running within the next year or two.
We operate a small thrift shop in Breckenridge, Colorado called "For
Pets' Sake," to raise funds for our operations. Vet bills are our biggest
expense! We're also working on a plan to purchase a used Class C motor home
to retrofit with kennels so we can do mobile adoptions in other communities
to help get pets adopted more quickly. We help several other shelters and
rescue groups when they're overfull, and this would be a great way to get
more pets out in the public eye.
