Olive Branch Humane Society's Animal Haven

http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/obpets.html

We are a non -profit group of volunteers dedicated to help homeless animals in Desoto County. We are a 501C group which allows your donations to be tax deductable. We spay and neuter all of the dogs and cats that come through our group before they leave us for new homes. We also are involved in community outreach to help educate the community on the importance of vaccinating, spaying and neutering their pets. Our new facility has been named the Animal Haven, we wanted a name that would reflect a safe harbor for the animals that we were saving from death row shelters as well as a welcoming name for visitors to feel comfortable coming to view the animals. The public can feel comfortable knowing that this is not a depressing shelter but a happy temporary home for these pets until a new permanent family can be found for them.

Choctaw Ridge Farms
Tucked away in the woods by the town of Ruth, Mississippi is a farm called Choctaw Ridge, where a group of volunteers with big hearts maintain a non-profit farm. There, mistreated hooved animals can learn to trust humans again. Some of the animals have been abused, and some where simply neglected. Once the animals have been rescued they provide food, love and work on solving behavor problems while nursing them back to health. Some of the horses never fully recover and maybe rendered unable to carry a rider or be bred. Thus on a working farm they would be considered "useless" (a term NEVER used at Choctaw Ridge Farms). Some of them make a beautiful and complete recovery. Once recovery is complete these beautiful creatures are ready to find a forever home, or live out their natural lives at Choctaw Ridge Farms.

Brookhaven Animal Rescue League
www.barl.net

The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League is a nonprofit, no-kill, volunteer-based animal welfare group. We are a small organization which does big work in Brookhaven, MS. All BARL animals are vet checked, vaccinated and spayed/neutered before coming into the Adoption Center. Our dogs are also micro-chipped. We also work to educate our area about the benefits of spay/neuter and offer spay/neuter financial assistance as long as the money holds out. For 25 years, BARL was an all-volunteer organization. This past year we added two part-time employees, however, our volunteers do a tremendous amount of work. With only about 10 volunteers handling the majority of duties we are proud that our adoptions each year range from 200-250 animals (dogs/cats). Our aggressive spay/neuter program has grown and this past year, BARL spayed/neutered over 400 owned animals in our area (this does not include the 200-250 BARL animals). You may contact us at 601-757-4367 or info@barl.net.
