Southern Ocean County Animal Facility (Manahawkin, NJ)

We are a county run facility that houses stray animals for Stafford Township Animal Control, Berkeley Township Animal Control and Little Egg Harbor Animal Control. We also take in surrendered animals from owners who can no longer keep their animals, as long as they are Ocean County residents. We adopt out both dogs and cats to the public 7 days a week.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and updated on shots prior to adoption. You can find our animals listed on most of the rescue sites, but the site with the most information would be http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NJ174.html We can be reached either by phone, 609-978-0127 or by email socaf@ochd.org.

Mostly Shepherds is a non-profit animal rescue organization that primarily rescues German Shepherds, but also rescues other dogs and cats. All our animals are evaluated by a licensed veterinarian, receive check-ups and shots, as needed, and are spayed or neutered, if necessary. Our goal is to find the "right owner" for the "right pet". We help you find the dog that's best for you!

The dogs are housed through the kindness of a generous Kennel owner and some foster families. Please contact Libby Cook at 732-671-3708 to arrange that special meeting at a mutual convenience for all.

Mutts-N-More Rescue

www.muttsnmore.com

Mutts-N-More Rescue is an organization of volunteers dedicated to rescuing dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens from kill shelters nationwide. After pulling the animals from shelters or taking them from private homes, Mutts-N-More places them in private foster homes until a forever family can be found. We have a thorough screening process for all adoptive homes, and also follow up on every adoption. All of our adoptive pets are spayed/neutered if they are over 5 months of age (if not, a spay/neuter contract is signed which we follow up on diligently), and fully vaccinated and dewormed prior to going to their new homes (as age appropriate).

We also assist people with placing their pets in new homes if they are unable to keep them. We offer any assistance possible to help people find that special companion who would make a perfect addition to their family. We also educate people on the importance of spaying/neutering their pets, adopting pets in need instead of buying from a breeder/pet shop; educate people about puppy mills, and regular vet care for their pets. We are always in need of more foster homes. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit a volunteer application from our website.

Pit Bull advocacy site

www.realpitbull.com - If you are looking for accurate, real-world information on the breed, the Center is where it's at. For breed basics and beyond. No fantasy, just fact.

The American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service is a national organization operating under the aegis of our parent breed club. We have a very proactive rescue program and our dogs are fostered in-home by experienced Bullmastiff rescue volunteers. All dogs are spayed/neutered prior to placement, all medical needs are addressed, and they are fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. Prior to placement, our prospective adopters undergo an extensive application process including reference checks, home visits, and pre-adoption interviews. We offer ongoing mentoring services for the lifetime of the pet, and because we are a national organization, these services are available even in the event of a relocation. Our group will take back a dog that we have placed at anytime, for any reason. For more information, please visit our website, www.bullmastiff.us and click on the rescue button.

Camden County Animal Shelter located in Blackwood, New Jersey.

A little bit about us.... Camden County Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. We take in over 5,000 per year and have an amazing group of staff and volunteers that work tirelessly to find every adoptable animal placed in our care into a forever home, foster or rescue. We are extremely proud to be one of the only Shelters in our area that evaluate "bully breeds" on temperament and personality rather than looks. All of our dogs are temperament evaluated prior to placement. We do allow for out of area adoptions. We are always in great need of new volunteers and foster families! Please contact CamCoShelter@yahoo.com for more information or visit our website at www.ccasnj.org.
