North Fork Animal Welfare League, Inc.
The mission of the League is to provide humane care and treatment for all of the animals needing protection in our community, the Town of Southold . We are the only East End shelter with the commitment and courage to take on the difficult task of providing animal care and control for all the homeless and needy animals within our community while maintaining a no-kill policy. Never is a healthy, adoptable animal killed for the sole crime of being homeless. Spay/ neuter and humane education are two of the most important tools utilized in the fulfillment of our mission.
Another Chance Pet Rescue
anotherchancepetrescue.org
We have dedicated our rescue to saving the homeless animals left in
pounds and shelters. We pull from our area animal pounds as well as
pounds out of state. We rescue them and they live in foster homes in the
Rochester area until a wonderful forever home comes along. All of our
rescued animals get their age appropriate vet work completed: altering,
shots, disease testing (for cats), heartworm testing (for dogs), wormed,
flea treated, and micro-chipped. Our rescue is trying to make a dent
in the population of animals that are euthanized every year because
they are dumped at a pound.
Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, Inc
The Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, Inc. is a private,
non-profit humane organization. Since 1891, the CCHS/SPCA has been the only

a healthy environment for our animals; we educate the public about
animal welfare and enforce animal welfare laws; we strive to reduce animal
overpopulation by providing spay/neuter services; we advocate for the
humane treatment of animals in the community and we promote the adoption
of animals into responsible, loving homes. The Chemung County Humane
Society & SPCA envisions a time when loving and lifelong homes will be
provided for all homeless companion animals in our community.

We are a 501(c)3 not for profit no kill equine (horses and donkeys) rescue
that also takes in homeless
dogs and cats. We are spay/neuter advocates. We take in the so called death
row dogs and cats from animal shelters that kill. We get them healthy, spayed/neutered
and socialized so that they may find new homes.
The mission of Animal Center of Queens, Inc. (ACQ) is to educate and inform
the public about responsible companion and animal ownership, the link between
domestic violence, child abuse and animal abuse, the importance of early training
and between behavior evaluation for companion animals, the necessity to spay
and neuter pets to prevent pet overpopulation which leads to abandonment, cruelty,
and euthanasia and that pet ownership is a lifetime commitment. ACQ operates
a boarding and rescue facility in Queens County in New York City and is a member
of the New York City Mayor's Alliance for Animals. We help homeless and displaced
companion animals with temporary shelter, food, human companionship, medical
care, low cost spay-neuter services through local veterinarians and behavior

Bobbi & the Strays - www.bobbicares.petfinder.org
Bobbi & the Strays is a 100% no-kill animal rescue located in Queens, NYC.
We rescue dogs and cats and keep them in our care until we are able to find
them their forever homes. Some of the pets we take in have been abandoned on
the streets, pulled from city kill shelters or sometimes from people who can
no longer keep them for one reason or another. We educate the public on the
importance of spay and neuter and also the importance of adopting a homeless
pet and not buying from a pet store. If we take in a sick or injured dog or
cat, we do not spare any expense to make them healthy again. We are not funded
by anyone and rely on the kindness of the public to keep us going. Bobbi & the
Strays has been a legal 501c3 non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization
since 1998. Please email bobbicares2@aol.com for any and all info!
Shepherds' Hope Rescue http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NY769.html
We were formed
by two independent rescuers who forged an alliance to more effectively help
our beloved breed. We are disturbed by the alarming increase of German Shepherd
Dogs in the country's animal shelters and in neglectful situations. We are
not a shelter nor do we have our own facility. As volunteers, we house our
rescue dogs either in our own homes, foster homes if available, or board them
with dog sitters or kennels until placed with their new families. We make the
commitment to each and every animal to resolve any health or behavioral issues
prior to adoption, and all dogs are vaccinated, spayed/neutered and heartworm
tested. Our application and home visit process ensures we are placing our dogs
in the best possible situations. German Shepherds are not for everyone, and
as long-time, multiple Shepherd owners ourselves, we are familiar with the
type of home/family best suited for this breed. We also take into considerations
the dog's needs and temperament so that both dog and family are happy with
the placement. Our goal is save as many German Shepherds and mixes as possible
and unite them with loving and caring owners so that they will never suffer
or know sadness again.
